Conversations are an integral part of communication, and being able to engage in basic dialogues is a valuable skill. Let's practice some common conversations in Spanish.
Repeat after me as we go through each dialogue.
Dialogue 1: Greetings
Person A: ¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás?
Person B: Hola, estoy bien. ¿Y tú?
Person A: También estoy bien, gracias.
Translation:
Person A: Hi! How are you?
Person B: Hi, I'm good. And you?
Person A: I'm also good, thank you.
Dialogue 2: Introducing Yourself
Person A: ¿Cómo te llamas?
Person B: Me llamo María. ¿Y tú?
Person A: Soy Juan. Mucho gusto, María.
Person B: El gusto es mío, Juan.
Translation:
Person A: What's your name?
Person B: My name is María. And you?
Person A: I'm Juan. Nice to meet you, María.
Person B: The pleasure is mine, Juan.
Dialogue 3: Ordering at a Restaurant
Person A: Buenas tardes. Quisiera una mesa para dos, por favor.
Person B: Claro, síganme, por favor.
Person A: Gracias.
Person B: ¿Les gustaría ver el menú?
Person A: Sí, por favor.
Translation:
Person A: Good afternoon. I would like a table for two, please.
Person B: Of course, follow me, please.
Person A: Thank you.
Person B: Would you like to see the menu?
Person A: Yes, please.
