Soy de España.
I am from Spain.

Ella es médica.
She is a doctor.
Repeat: Ella es médica.
Mi hermano es alto.
My brother is tall.
Repeat: Mi hermano es alto. Fantastic!
On the other hand, the verb estar is used to express temporary states, locations, feelings, and conditions. It is used to talk about emotions, physical conditions, locations, and temporary situations.
Let's see some examples:
Estoy cansado/cansada.
I am tired.
Repeat: Estoy cansado/cansada.
El libro está en la mesa.
The book is on the table.
Repeat: El libro está en la mesa.
